Rebel Netters to Welcome NMRC Kids at UALR Match

OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 4 nationally-ranked Ole Miss men's tennis team will host Arkansas-Little Rock, Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Women's Sports Complex across from Tad Smith Coliseum. Children from the North Mississippi Regional Center will be the Rebels special guests at the match.
"We appreciate our friends from NMRC coming to support our tennis program," head coach Billy Chadwick said. "This is the third year in a row that they've come to watch tennis, but the first year that the match has been held in the Women's Sports Complex."
The Rebels enter the match with a 3-0 record. They are coming off a 6-1 win over Middle Tennessee State, Saturday. Ole Miss lost the doubles point, but came back to win all six singles matches for the win. Sophomore James Shortall leads the Rebels with a 24-5 record and has won eight of his last nine matches.
Arkansas-Little Rock comes into the match undefeated at 4-0. They are coming off a 6-0 shutout over Tennessee-Martin, Saturday. They also have posted wins over Louisville, Memphis and Southern Mississippi. The Trojans are led by Danny Iniesta, who is 4-0 in dual matches, 3-0 at the No. 1 spot. Ole Miss defeated UALR 5-2 last year in Oxford.
The Rebels are gearing up the for the second annual River Hills Mississippi Cup, Thursday with Mississippi State. That match begins at 5:00 p.m. at the River Hills Club in Jackson. To order tickets fans can call (601) 362-1638.
