Softball Hosts Auburn in Weekend Series

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss softball team will take on the Auburn Tigers in two double-headers this weekend at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.

The Rebels (25-24, 7-13) currently lead the Tigers (22-25-1, 6-12) by one game for the eighth and final spot for the Southeastern Conference tournament. The top eight teams in the SEC advance to the tournament which will be held in Columbus, Ga., May 13-16.

Last week, the Rebels pounded out 21 hits and 13 runs in a two-game sweep of the Kentucky Wildcats. Shortstop Mandy Shklar powered the Rebels' attack going 6-for-8 in the two game series, including a career best 4-for-5 in game two. Shklar's four hits also tied a team record for hits in a game.

Game one on Friday begins at 5 p.m. with game two slated for a 7 p.m. start. Game one on Saturday is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start with game two beginning at 3 p.m.
