Softball Splits Doubleheader with Mississippi State

OXFORD, Miss. - After dropping game one of a double-header 8-0 to Mississippi State, the Ole Miss Rebels rebounded to win the second game 8-0 and take the weekend series with the Bulldogs 3-1. The Rebels improved to 19-12 overall and 3-1 in the Southeastern Conference, while Mississippi State dropped to 16-13 overall and 1-3 in the SEC.

In game two, Mandy Shklar went 3-for-4 and scored two runs and Korrie Kashuba drove in two runs as Jennifer Hughes held the Bulldogs to two hits en route to third win of the series. Hughes= record improved to 7-3.

In game one, the Bulldogs put up four runs in the second inning and three in the fourth as the Rebels were held to two hits by Mississippi State pitcher Autumn Anderson. The Ole Miss Rebels return to action Friday, March 26, with a double-header against the Georgia Bulldogs at the University of Mississippi Softball Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
