Volleyball Defeats Towson, Loses to Missouri

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Ole Miss volleyball team downed Towson 15-12, 15-11, 15-9 but lost to Missouri 12-15, 15-13, 15-8, 15-6 Saturday in the Evanston Holiday Inn Wildcat Classic. The Lady Rebels are now 6-6 on the year.
In the Lady Rebels' win over Towson, Kari Elggren led Ole Miss with 10 kills, and Anna Hackbarth had eight kills and a .500 hitting percentage. Lauren Dorcheus added six kills and had a .455 hitting percentage. Lisa Frannino led Ole Miss in digs with 15, followed by Danielle Atzinger with 10.
Towson was led by Lyssa Pershing with 15 kills and by Lindsey Rattet with 10 digs.
In the Missouri match, Ole Miss was led by Elggren and Abby Hollander with eight kills apiece. Atzinger recorded eight digs, followed by Rebecca Rider and Frannino with seven each. Frannino and Renata Nowacki each served three aces.
For Missouri, Naaron Branson and Renee Rosinski notched 14 kills apiece, followed by Annette Luyten and Jodi Maune with 11 kills each.
Ole Miss returns to Oxford to host Georgia in the Lady Rebels' first SEC match of the year Friday at 7 p.m.
