? Complete 1999-2000 Schedule

OXFORD, Miss. - Last year's Ole Miss women's basketball schedule was rated the seventh toughest in the nation, and although the 1999-2000 schedule might not be quite that difficult, it won't be far behind.

This year's schedule includes 11 teams that went to postseason play and nine NCAA Tournament teams. The theme of this year's schedule is "Go West" as the Lady Rebels will head to Bozeman, Mt., Thanksgiving weekend for the Lady Kat State Farm Classic. In December, they will travel to Flagstaff, Ariz., to participate in the Northern Arizona tournament.

"We play Clemson on the road and Memphis at home to open the season. We are also participating in three tournaments who annually include a tough field," Lady Rebel head coach Ron Aldy said. "We are continuing to play a tough non-conference schedule to adequately prepare us for our conference schedule. Our schedule this year may not be rated in the top 10, but it's not far from it."

Ole Miss will tip off its 1999-2000 season on Nov. 19 when they host area rival Memphis. Game time is 5:00 p.m., as part of a double-header with the men's team. Following that, the Lady Rebels will face Clemson on the road on Nov. 22 before traveling to Bozeman, Mt., for the Lady Kat State Farm Classic. Other participants include host Montana State, Morehead State and Bowling Green.

The NAU Classic (Dec. 20-21) includes host Northern Arizona and San Jose State in a round robin format. In addition, the Lady Rebels will also participate in the South Florida Classic (Dec. 3-4), which includes Delaware and Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo.

Besides Clemson, the Lady Rebels will visit Southern Mississippi (Dec. 29), and Tennessee Tech (Jan. 2). Non-conference opponents coming to Oxford this season include Arkansas-Little Rock (Nov. 30), Middle Tennessee State (Dec. 16), and Belmont (Jan. 15).

Kicking off the conference schedule will be Vanderbilt on Jan. 9 in Oxford. This season the Lady Rebels will host Final Four qualifier Georgia (Jan. 27), 1999 SEC Champion Tennessee (Feb. 10), NCAA participants Kentucky (Feb. 24) and Alabama (Jan. 30), and WNIT Champion Arkansas (Feb. 27). Road games in the conference include LSU (Jan. 23), South Carolina (Feb. 6), and Florida (Feb. 17). In the rotating SEC 14-game schedule, the Lady Rebels will face Alabama and Vanderbilt in a home-and-home series. Mississippi State remains as the Lady Rebels' permanent home-and home opponent.
