OXFORD, Miss. - As the Ole Miss football team began looking toward the season opener against Memphis Wednesday, Rebel head coach David Cutcliffe was pleased with the effort, but wants to see that same type of intensity everyday.

"We've got to do a better job of having good practices on back-to-back days," Cutcliffe said. "Consistency is going to be a big issue in early games. That's a challenge that we set forth on the practice field.

"There's not much time left to get better," Cutcliffe added. "We need to come back out tomorrow and work hard and then we will begin to limit our contact, as we get closer to the season opener."

Cutcliffe also announced on Wednesday that junior tight end Kevin McKenzie of Whiteville, N.C., a transfer from Arizona Western Community College, has left the team.

The premier of the "David Cutcliffe Radio Call-In Show" will air Thursday night over 28 stations throughout Mississippi and in parts of Tennessee and Louisiana, plus over the Internet. The first one-hour show, which is originated by Telesouth Communications, begins at 6:00 p.m., and will air live from Tico's Restaurant in Jackson.

Starting Thursday, Sept. 2, the weekly show during football season returns to the Downtown Grill on the Oxford square.

Listeners may speak with Coach Cutcliffe by calling the show at 1-888-808-8637, 601-952-0986 or by dialing *222 for Bell South Mobility.
