Shklar Represents Rebels at National Softball Tournament

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss softball player Mandy Shklar was named a third-team All-American by the Amateur Softball Association after competing in the ASA's Women's Major National this summer.

Shklar, who finished second in the Southeastern Conference in fielding at shortstop last season, played for the Team Texas Majors coached by Robert Andaya.

Team Texas finished seventh in a field of 22 teams with a 5-2 record.

A senior from Owasso, Okla., Shklar is eligible to be invited to the United States Olympic Qualifying Festival to compete for a chance to play for Team USA in the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney, Australia.
