OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Lady Rebels held Southwest Missouri State to nine shots on goal for the game and improved to 3-0 on the season after a 3-1 victory over the Bears Friday night.

"This was our best game to date. We played Ole Miss soccer tonight," head coach Steve Holeman said. "We created a lot of scoring opportunities against a good Southwest Missouri State team and I'm proud of the way we came together."

Junior forward Regan Scanlon got the Lady Rebels on the board with her sixth goal of the year off an assist from freshman Anna Sanders to give Ole Miss a 1-0 advantage.

With the score still 1-0 at halftime, junior Jennifer Soileau opened the second half with her first goal of the season to give Ole Miss a 2-0 lead. Freshman Michaela Collins followed up with her first collegiate goal four minutes later to give the Lady Rebels a 3-0 cushion.

Jena Knopf got the Bears on the board at the 84:05 mark to close out the scoring.

The Lady Rebels return to action Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. against Jacksonville at the Ole Miss soccer complex. Admission is free of charge.
