Lady Rebels Host Ole Miss Intivational

OXFORD, Miss.--Off to the best start in five years, the Ole Miss Lady Rebel volleyball team will host the Ole Miss Invitational Tournament Friday and Saturday at the Women's Multi-Sport Complex.
The Lady Rebels (3-1) are coming off a second place finish in the Air Force Invitational last weekend where they defeated Eastern Illinois and Fordham after a tournament-opening loss to host Air Force. The Lady Rebels opened their season with a 3-1 victory over Tennessee-Martin.
Ole Miss will host Arkansas State and Wake Forest in the two-day tournament. Action begins Friday at 1 pm when the Lady Rebels take on Arkansas State. Arkansas State and Wake Forest match up at 4 pm. Ole Miss will also take on Wake Forest in the night cap against at 7 pm.
The tournament wraps up on Saturday as the #2 team takes on the #3 ranked team at 11 a.m. to earn the right to compete for the tournament title against the #1 team at 3 p.m.
Last season, Ole Miss went 2-1 in the invitational, defeating Jacksonville State and Florida A&M before losing to Rhode Island 3-1 in the title game.
Wake Forest enters the tournament 5-1 after a loss Wednesday to UNC-Charlotte, 3-2, on the road. Wake Forest won the Deacon Invitational last weekend, defeating Montana State, Western Carolina and Wyoming. Arkansas State enters the tournament 5-1 with its lone loss to Baylor, who Ole Miss will meet next weekend in the Baylor Invitational.
This will be the second meeting with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, with the Lady Rebels holding the 1-0 series advantage. Ole Miss also holds the series advantage 24-17 against ASU. This will be the 42nd meeting with the Lady Indians. Last season the Lady Rebels split the two game series with Arkansas State 3-2 and 0-3.
