Lady Rebel Falls In All-American Qualifying

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Ole Miss women's tennis player Alesya Ignatieva lost in the second round of qualifying at the Riviera All-American Championships late Tuesday night at the Riviera Country Club.
Ignatieva, a junior on the Lady Rebel squad, defeated Debbie Laroque of Arizona 6-2, 6-4 in the first round before losing to 43rd-ranked Martina Nedelkova of Virginia Commonwealth 6-4, 6-1 in the second round.
Sophomore Mira Radu withdrew from the singles competition at the All-American with the flu, but will compete in main draw doubles with Julie DeRoo. DeRoo made the main draw singles. Main draw begins Thursday.
