RECORDS: Ole Miss improved to 5-2 overall with a 43-40 overtime win over UNLV this past Saturday in Oxford. The Rebels are 2-2 in SEC play. Arkansas fell to 4-3 and 1-3 in the SEC with a 21-19 loss at Auburn this past weekend.
RANKINGS: Ole Miss was ranked in neither of last week's two major college football polls. The Rebels did, however, receive votes, tallying 18 votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Top 25, and four in The Associated Press Top 25. Arkansas was unranked in both polls.
COACHES: David Cutcliffe is in his second full season as head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels. He is 14-6 at Ole Miss and has guided the Rebels to victories in the 1998 and 1999 Sanford Independence Bowls. He made his Ole Miss debut and recorded his first career win in the Rebels' 35-18 win over Texas Tech in the 1998 Sanford Independence Bowl. Ole Miss is Cutcliffe's first career head coaching assignment. This will be Cutcliffe's second meeting against Arkansas and Razorback head coach Houston Nutt. He is 1-0 against both Arkansas and Nutt ... Houston Nutt is in his third season at Arkansas. He is 21-10 with the Razorbacks and 57-32 overall in eight seasons as a collegiate head coach. Nutt went 31-16 in four seasons at Murray State (1993-96) and 5-6 in one year at Boise State (1997) before going to Arkansas. Nutt is 1-1 against Ole Miss and 0-1 against Cutcliffe.

The Rebels went 6-4 against Arkansas in the 1990s, though the Razorbacks have won four of the last six meetings.
