OXFORD, Miss. - The Lady Rebels volleyball team will play two more home matches this weekend as they host Alabama on Friday at 7 p.m., and Auburn on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Ole Miss (8-8, 1-3) will take on the SEC West leading Crimson Tide (13-4,3-1) in Friday's match. Seniors Kira Zschau and Renata Nowacki continue to lead Ole Miss. Zschau has a team leading 219 kills, while Nowacki leads the team in assists with 663. Junior outside hitter Jaime Burns continues to be slowed by shin splints and tendonitis in her right knee. Burns only played in four of the seven games last weekend and the Lady Rebels are hoping to regain her services against the Crimson Tide.
Alabama is led by senior outside hitter Michelle Green, this week's SEC Player of the Week. Green was named player of the week after posting a season-high 33 kills and 18 digs in the Tide's first ever victory over Arkansas. She led Alabama in kills in both of last weekend's victories with a pair of 20-plus performances and also led UA in digs versus Arkansas with 18. Her 33 kill/18 dig performance versus the Lady 'Backs was her seventh double-double of the season. This award was the second of the season for Green.
