OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Lady Rebel volleyball team will take a break from SEC action and face Southern Miss in Jackson, Miss., on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The match will be played at Pearl High School.
Ole Miss (9-9, 2-4) will take on the Golden Eagles (8-10, 2-5) after splitting in SEC action over the weekend. The Lady Rebels lost to Alabama, 3-0, and defeated Auburn, 3-1, to collect their second SEC victory of the season. Southern Miss defeated Mississippi State, 3-1, last Tuesday, before dropping two matches to Cincinnati, 3-0, and Louisville, 3-0, over the weekend.
Junior Jaime Burns returned to full-time action over the weekend after having played sparingly through the four previous matches due to shin splints and tendonitis. Burns returned with a bang as she collected 30 kills, 14 digs and four service aces in the two matches.
The Lady Rebels will be looking to collect their tenth victory of the season, which would equal their season win total from a year ago.
