LSU POSTGAME NOTES
* With a 28-yard reception in the second quarter, Josh Reed went over the 1,000-yard plateau to become only the third receiver in LSU to record a 1,000-yard season, joining Wendell Davis (1,244 in 1986) and Eric Martin (1,064 in 1983). Reed also moved from fifth place on the single season list for receiving yards (he entered the game with 938) to second in the course of the evening. He moved past Eric Martin into second place on a 17-yard reception in the third quarter which moved him to 1,066 yards at the time.
* Reed had his sixth 100-yard receiving game of the season to tie Wendell Davis' school record in that category, set in 1986. It was also Reed's seventh career 100-yard receiving game in only 13 games as a receiver.
* Jarvis Green recorded his first sack of the season, dropping Romaro Miller late in the third quarter. It was the 16th sack of his career.
* Eric Edwards' second-quarter 32-yard TD reception was the second of his career and LSU's 11th TD pass of 30 yards or more this season.
* Fred Booker's first quarter interception was his second of the season, a career high, and the fourth of his career.
* With tonight's Vaught-Hemingway Stadium record of 52,476 fans, it marked the fifth time in LSU's 10 games this season that the Tigers have played in front of a stadium record crowd - three times at home this season and twice on the road - Western Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama at Tiger Stadium and Auburn and Ole Miss on the road.
* Tonight's game was only the third time this season that LSU trailed after the opening quarter (the others were UAB and Florida). The Tigers were 0-2 in games they trailed after the first quarter. The Tigers held the lead at halftime for the sixth time this season and entered tonight's game with a 5-0 record when leading at the half.
* With a stop on the opening possession of the game, the LSU defense has now stopped the opposition on the opening drive in all but one game this season (Mississippi State). The LSU defense also held the opposition without a first quarter TD for the eighth time in 10 games and also marked the fifth time in 10 games that the Tigers held the opposition without TD in the first half.
* LSU senior offensive lineman Louis Williams started his 32nd consecutive game tonight, the longest streak of any Tiger. Other streaks of consecutive starts that were extended were Fred Booker (26), Jerel Myers (21), Ryan Clark (21), and Trev Faulk (17).
* With a 17-yard reception in the first quarter, Reggie Robinson extended his team-high streak of consecutive games with a catch to 27. Josh Reed extended his personal stteak to 13 straight games with a reception.
* Captains for LSU were Tommy Banks, Brandon Winey and Mississippi native Kareem Mitchell and Muskingum Barnes.
