Lady Rebel Volleyball Drops Finale To Alabama, 3-0

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball team dropped their final regular-season match to Alabama, 15-8, 15-13, 15-7, on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Rebels, who clinched a berth in the SEC Tournament with a win over Auburn on Friday, ended the regular season 15-15 overall and 5-10 in SEC play. Alabama, the SEC West champions, closed out the regular season 22-7 overall and 11-4 in conference play.
Leading the way for Ole Miss in the three-game match were senior Kira Zschau and junior Jaime Burns. Zschau led the Lady Rebels in kills with 12, while Burns was the dig leader with 13. Burns also added nine kills for Ole Miss.
Senior setter Renata Nowacki assisted on 31 kills and collected seven digs, while sophomore Erin Newsom added eight kills, six digs and five blocks.
The Lady Rebels will spend the week preparing for the SEC Tournament that is to be held at the University of Florida, Nov. 17-19. The pairings for the tournament have yet to be announced.
