Ole Miss Football Places Three On Academic Team

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss football team had three of its players - Reagan King, German Bello and Wes Scott - named to the 2000 Verizon All-Academic District VI football second team.

A senior from Ackerman, Miss., King is a four-year starter at punter for the Rebels. This season, he is averaging 39.8 yards on 44 punts with a long of 51 yards against Tulane. King, a Banking and Finance major, was named to the 1999 SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Bello, a sophomore offensive lineman from Pompano Beach, Fla., has been a key reserve at left guard with one start for the Rebels this year. In 1998, Bello received the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award from the Ole Miss chapter.

Scott, a sophomore defensive back, has seen action in seven of the Rebels? nine games this season. The Memphis native also earned the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award from the Ole Miss chapter in 1999.
