Lady Rebel Volleyball Opens SEC Tournament Against Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Ole Miss volleyball team will take on ninth-ranked Florida in the first round of the SEC Tournament on Friday at 5:30 p.m. (EST). The Lady Rebels (15-15, 5-10) are the No. 8 seed in the tournament, while the host Gators (22-4, 14-0) earned the No. 1 seed.
Ole Miss is 8-18 in SEC Tournament history and is competing in the conference tournament in 2000 after failing to qualify for the tournament last season. The Gators, the SEC East Division Champions, have won seven of the last eight tournament titles.
The top eight teams in the conference qualify for the tournament, with the winner gaining the SEC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Other first round match-ups are as follows: No. 2 Alabama vs. No. 7 LSU, No. 3 South Carolina vs. No. 6 Georgia, No. 4 Tennessee vs. No. 5 Arkansas.
The semi-final matches will be played Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The championship is Nov. 19 at 1 p.m.
College Sports Southeast will broadcast the first round and semi-final contests tape delayed. FOX Sports Net will broadcast the championship match live, and Sunshine Network will air it in Florida.
