ATHENS, Ga. - The Ole Miss soccer team fell to Georgia, 2-0, Thursday in the opening round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament at Georgia Soccer Stadium. The loss eliminates the No. 2 seed Rebels (13-6-1) from the SEC Tournament.

The host and No. 7 seed Bulldogs (10-8-2) jumped on the board at the 27:05 mark when forward Beth Culver connected from 17 yards out, assisted by Lauren Zacharaski. UGA's other score came at 49:19 when Stacy Hunt drove home a Culver cross.

"Georgia played extremely well," said Ole Miss head coach Steve Holeman. "I thought our defense played well, and Melinda Smith came up with some big saves.

"Obviously, it's a disappointing loss and a tough way to end the season. I'm really proud of our senior class. They had a tremendous season. I'm sorry to see their careers come to an end."

Rebel senior Jennifer Soileau was named All-SEC first team. It was the third straight first team selection for Soileau, who is Ole Miss' all-time leading scorer with 99 career total points.

Also, sophomore Kristin Chapman was named All-SEC second team. The Vicksburg, Miss., native started every game of her first season with the Rebels, after spending the 1999 season at Florida.
