RON ALDY IN THIRD SEASON AT OLE MISS
Ron Aldy is in his third season at the helm of the Ole Miss women's basketball program. He is known around the coaching ranks, as one of the best in the nation. He has achieved success on every level as either a head coach or an assistant coach. Since his arrival, Aldy has dedicated himself to making Ole Miss a winner on and off the court. With the plans in motion and the building started, Aldy is ready to lead the Lady Rebels and continue the tradition into the next century.

After a difficult first season in which only two players returned with any significant playing time, Aldy was happy to have 10 letterwinners back, and the result was the program's 23rd winning campaign and a return to postseason play. The Lady Rebels finished with a 15-13 record and earned a bid to the Women's NIT. Highlights included winning the Maine Dead River Company Classic and defeating six teams that made the NCAA Tournament. Off the court, the Lady Rebels have made tremendous strides academically since Aldy's arrival. Last year, Ole Miss led the league with six players named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll and two more would have made it if freshman were eligible.

A native of Jackson, Miss., Aldy came to Ole Miss after a five-year stint as the associate head coach at Florida. During his five seasons (1992-97) at Florida, Aldy helped guide the Lady Gators to a 110-44 record and five NCAA Tournaments, including an Elite Eight appearance in 1997.

Prior to his time at Florida, Aldy coached in the state of Mississippi for 23 years at the junior college and high school levels. From 1988-92, Aldy led Holmes Community College to a 79-40 record, one top five national finish, one Region 23 title and two state junior college championships. Before his junior college coaching stint, Aldy coached both the boys' and girls' teams at Grenada Kirk. In 17 years at Kirk, he compiled a 294-167 boys' record and a 449-110 girls' mark.

Renowned as one of the best coaches in the nation, Aldy has been instrumental in the development of such standouts as WNBA stars Merlakia Jones (Cleveland Rockers), Delisha Milton (Los Angeles Sparks), Bridget Pettis (Phoenix Mercury) and Murriel Page (Washington Mystics). Over the last three decades, Aldy's teams have won an incredible 863 games over the course of his career.
