Softball Beats Illinois State 7-3 At Fresno State Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - The Ole Miss softball team wrapped up the final day of the Fresno State Invitational with a 7-3 win over Illinois State.
Ole Miss improves to 12-17 on the year and finished the Fresno State Invitational with a 3-3 record.
Senior Mandy Shklar was named to the all-tournament team after driving in three runs with a double and a triple in six games.
Against Illinois State, the Rebels put up four runs in the bottom of the first inning to cruise to victory.
Allison Willrath, Heather Swinney, Kaci Coffee and Mandy Shklar each scored in the first inning as Shklar and Holly Burris picked up RBI's.
Ole Miss added a run in the second inning on two Illinois State errors for a 5-0 lead.
Illinois State put up a run in the third and two more in the fourth to cut the Ole Miss lead 5-3.
The Rebels increased their lead with two more run in the bottom of the fourth after Rachel Davenport and Amanda Lehotak scored for a 7-3 advantage.
Burris slammed the door on Illinois State as the freshman did not allow a hit past the third inning to improve her record to 5-5.
