Last Time Out
Ole Miss split a double-header with No. 10 Southern Miss on Wednesday night. The Rebels and Lady Eagles were forced to delay the start of the twin bill two hours due to rain, but once on the field the two teams battled through 10 scoreless innings in game one behind outstanding pitching from the Rebels' Holly Burris and USM's Courtney Blades. Ole Miss put three runs up in the top of the 11th with two runs coming on a two-out double by senior Korrie Kashuba. USM rallied for two runs in the bottom half of the inning, but Burris got Jennifer Ford to pop out with the tying run on second for the 3-2 victory. USM prevented the sweep with a 6-4 win in game two.

Extra!! Extra!!
After going the first 33 games of the season with only one extra-inning game, the Rebels have gone into extra-innings in three of their last six games. Ole Miss tied a team record for the longest game by going 11 innings in game one against Georgia and then followed that with a nine inning performance in game one against No. 17 South Carolina. The Rebels again tied the record for innings played with another 11 inning game in game one against No. 10 Southern Miss. The Rebels went 3-0 in those games as freshman Holly Burris pitched every inning to get the win in each game. For the season, the Rebels are 4-0 in extra-inning games this season after defeating Florida State 3-2 in eight innings earlier in the season.

Burris Wins Sixth Consecutive Start
Freshman pitcher Holly Burris won her sixth consecutive start with a 3-2 win over No. 10 Southern Miss on Wednesday. The Memphis, Tenn., native has not lost a game since March 17, when Mississippi State rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh for a 4-3 win. Burris has gone 7-1 in her last eight starts and has thrown two two-hitters, two three-hitters, two shutouts and has three wins over top 25 teams during that stretch.

Kashuba Comes Through in the Clutch
Senior Korrie Kashuba has been the big bat with the game on the line over the last week. In the Rebels 11-inning win over Georgia, Kashuba singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th to give Ole Miss a 2-1 lead. Kashuba followed that up with another pressure hit against No. 10 Southern Miss. With two outs and runners on second and third, Kashuba ripped a double to center of All-American Courtney Blades to give Ole Miss a 2-0 lead in the 11th inning. Kashuba then scored after two wild pitches by Blades that proved to be the winning run as the Rebels held on for a 3-2 win.

Shklar Ties Record
Senior shortstop Mandy Shklar tied a team and personal record with a nine game hitting streak. The Owasso, Okla., native tied the mark with a single in game two against No. 17 South Carolina. Shklar also hit safely in nine straight games in 1998 and shares the team record with Amanda Fine who accomplished the feat in 1998 as well.

Tough Stretch
The Rebels are in the midst of playing five straight teams ranked in the top 25, with the Rebels playing four of those teams on the road. The Rebels played No. 17 South Carolina, No. 10 Southern Miss prior to this weekend's series against No. 9 LSU. Ole Miss will then take on No. 16 Louisiana-Lafaytte and No. 14 Alabama. Ole Miss has played a total of nine top 25 teams this season and has a 3-10 record against those teams.
