Softball Squad Heads To Cali For Fresno State Classic

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Rebel softball team will take on two top-10 teams this weekend at the Fresno State Classic.
Ole Miss (9-14) is coming off a 1-5 showing at the Texas A&M Aggie Invitational last weekend in College Station.
Junior pitcher Jennifer Hughes notched the Rebels' only win, holding Minnesota to two runs on six hits in the 6-2 victory. Hughes improved to 2-2 with the win.
Offensively, the Rebels are led by redshirt freshman Jessica Hamilton with a .395 batting average and senior Allison Willrath with a .368 average.
Senior Heather Swinney has paced the Rebels with 10 runs batted in, six doubles and two home runs.
Ole Miss will open the Fresno State Classic on Friday, March 10, against Cal Poly (7-5) at 9 a.m. The Rebels will then play Florida State at 3 p.m. and No. 8 Fresno State (15-5) at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Ole Miss plays No. 3 UCLA (21-3) at 9 a.m. and Texas Tech (7-16) at 1 p.m.
The Rebels will close the tournament on Sunday with a 9 a.m. game against Illinois State (3-10). All game times are Pacific.
