Women's Tennis Team Defeats Harvard, 7-2

BOSTON, Mass. - The No. 12 nationally-ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team dominated the singles matches on their way to a 7-2 win over 53rd-ranked Harvard at the Murr Tennis Center, Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Rebels improve to 10-2 on the year.
Julie DeRoo downed Sanaz Ghazal 6-1 in the first set at No. 2 singles and was up 2-1 in the second, when Ghazal retired. Celeste Frey defeated Andrea Magyera 7-6, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
Mariana Eberle cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Fleur Broughton at No. 4 singles, and Mira Radu dominated Lara Naqushbandi 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles. Irena Mihailova won her match against Jennie Timoney, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
In their only singles win of the day, Harvard's Sanja Bajin defeated Lady Rebel Ivona Mihailova in a close 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 decision. The Crimson's only other win on the day came at No. 3 doubles.
The Lady Rebels now get ready for a huge SEC showdown at fourth-ranked Florida, Saturday. The match begins at 5:00 p.m. EST.
