Oxford, Miss. - The ninth-ranked LSU Tigers limited the Rebels one run on five hits in two games to sweep a double-header from Ole Miss Saturday afternoon.

The Rebels fall to 17-26 overall and 4-8 in the Southeastern Conference and have now lost five straight games. The Tigers improved to 31-7 overall and 9-1 in the SEC.

In game one, LSU jumped on top with three runs in the first inning off Ole Miss starter Holly Burris. LSU added two more runs in the third inning for a 5-0 advantage.

Ole Miss put up a run in the bottom of the third on an RBI single by shortstop Mandy Shklar.

The Rebels were unable to narrow the gap as the Tigers scored two more runs in the sixth inning for the final 7-1 margin.

In game two, Ole Miss freshman pitcher Lindsey Price held the Tigers scoreless until the fifth inning when Trena Peel doubled home Stacey Newton with one out. Price shut the Tigers down after giving up that run, but the Rebels were unable to overcome the deficit as LSU pitcher Britni Sneed picked up the win.

The Rebels were held to two hits in the game, as Rachel Davenport and Korrie Kashuba each singled.

The Rebels travel to Lafayette, La., on Tuesday, April 4, to take on No. 16 Louisiana-Lafayette in a double-header. First pitch for game one is slated for 5 p.m., with game two set for a 7 p.m. start.
