OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 15 nationally-ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team will close out the regular season Saturday against the LSU Lady Tigers in a 1:00 p.m. match at the Dub Robinson Tennis Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Ole Miss enters the final weekend of competition with a 14-6 overall record, 7-3 in the SEC. They are currently in fourth place in the SEC standings, and a win would guarantee them bye in the first round of next week's SEC Tournament.

The Lady Rebels defeated Tennessee 5-4 and downed South Carolina 6-0. They are led by Ivona Mihailova, who is ranked No. 17 in the latest WingspanBank.com rankings released Wednesday. Mihailova is 21-10 overall and 15-5 in dual matches.

"It feels like we're going back to our old stomping ground, having won the SEC Tournament Championship at LSU a year ago," head coach Jerry Montgomery said. "We stepped it up last weekend and played the best team match that we've had all year, against South Carolina. This will be a very tough match and I am confident that we'll be ready."

LSU comes into the match at 13-8 overall and 3-7 in the SEC. They are led by one of the nation's top players in No. 10 Bruna Colosio, who boast an 18-1 record at No. 1 singles. Their No. 2 player Ana Paula Mores, is ranked 66th with a 17-2 record at her position.

The Lady Tigers have won three of their last four matches including a 5-1 win over Auburn last Sunday. LSU's only win against an opponent in the Top 25 came against Kentucky, when they were ranked No. 25.

Ole Miss leads the all-time series with LSU 13-9. The Lady Rebels have won eight in a row over the Lady Tigers including last year's 7-2 win in Oxford. The last time the two teams played in Baton Rouge, Ole Miss won 5-4.

The Lady Rebels will host the SEC Women's Tennis Championships April 20-23 at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. Tickets can purchased by calling the ticket office at 662-915- 7167.
