Men's Golf Fifth After Two Rounds Of SEC Championship

KILLEN, Ala. - The Ole Miss men's golf team shot a 293 on Saturday to move up to fifth after day two of the Southeastern Conference Championships. The Rebels have a 36-hole score of 597 entering Sunday's final round at the Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club.

Ole Miss' Jon Bartlett shot 71 today and is tied for seventh with a 144, six strokes behind individual leader Alex Rocha of Mississippi State, with one round left. Bartlett, a senior from Ocala, Fla., is vying for his sixth top 10 finish of the year.

Phil Caravia also carded a 71 on Friday and boasts a two-round 149 to tie for 17th. Caravia, a junior from Belleville, Ill., has placed in the top 20 of two tournaments this year. Fellow junior Troy Muller is tied for 37th with an 81-72--153, while senior Chris Malloy has a 76-79--155 to rank 45th. Andrew Medley owns a 159 entering the final day.

Georgia shot a 10-under-par 278 Saturday to extend its lead by nine strokes over second-place Auburn. The final 18-hole round will begin Sunday at 8 a.m.
