Women's Tennis No. 16 In Latest National Rankings

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's tennis team is ranked No. 16 in the latest WingspanBank.com collegiate rankings released Wednesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The Lady Rebels (15-7) moved down from No. 14 following their loss to No. 18 Tennessee in the quarterfinal round of the SEC Tournament this past weekend in Oxford. The Lady Rebels have not lost to a team outside the Top 25 this year.

Stanford continues its claim on the top spot, followed by Georgia, Florida, Wake Forest, California, Pepperdine, Duke, UCLA, Texas and Arizona State. Six SEC schools are among this week's Top 25.

Individually, senior Ivona Mihailova moved up three spots to No. 14 with her win over ninth-ranked Bruna Colsoio of LSU. The All-SEC second-team selection, Mihailova currently has a 22-11 overall record.

Freshman Mira Radu is ranked No. 33, with a 32-11 record. Celeste Frey jumped up a few places to No. 35. She has won four in a row and five of her last six matches. Julie DeRoo, is tied for No. 41, and All-SEC first team honoree Mariana Eberle is tied for 76th.

In doubles, Frey and Eberle are ranked No. 42. This week's individual rankings do not include their win over 25th-ranked Vilmarie Castellvi and Alison Ojeda, whom they beat in the SEC Tournament.

The Lady Rebels will find out Thursday, May 4 if they will be get to host a regional when the NCAA selections and sites are announced.
