OXFORD, Miss. - The Rebel softball team will close out the 2000 regular season with a pair of double-headers against Arkansas this Wednesday and Thursday.

Game times are set for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. for both days. The Rebels will hold Senior Day on Thursday with a pre-game ceremony.

The Rebels (21-38 overall, 8-16 Southeastern Conference) need to win three of the four games to make the SEC Tournament. Ole Miss currently trails Auburn by a half-game for the eighth and final tournament seed.

"I think its important that we just go out and play the game. We don't need to worry about the consequences of winning and losing," Ole Miss head coach Candi Letts said. "We have seven seniors on this team and it's important for them to finish strong and be remembered for their accomplishments."

Ole Miss enters the mid-week series having lost its last two games. The Rebels were swept by Florida on Sunday, losing both games by one run.

The Rebels are 2-10 all-time against the Lady Razorbacks (36-28 overall, 15-11 SEC) with both wins coming in 1998 in Oxford. Arkansas swept the Rebels in Fayetteville last year.

The Lady Razorbacks are riding a four-game win streak after sweeping double-headers from Tennessee and Kentucky over the weekend. Arkansas has already clinched a berth in the SEC Tournament.

All four games against the Lady Razorbacks will be carried over the Internet at www.olemissports.com. Fans can click on "Live Box Score" icon for all the action.
