Blanchard Latest Ole Miss Football Signee

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss head football coach David Cutcliffe announced here Tuesday the signing of defensive back Travis Blanchard of Aberdeen, Miss., to a football scholarship.
"We're excited about Travis joining our football program," Cutcliffe said. "He had an outstanding high school career on both sides of the ball."
Blanchard, a 5-11, 180 pounder, accounted for over 3,900 all-purpose yards and 56 touchdowns during his career at Aberdeen High School. He also had 359 tackles and 21 pass interceptions on defense.
A defensive back selection on the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal All- Area team, Blanchard rated All-Monroe County and All-District honors, while being chosen as the Best Defensive Back in the district.
As a senior, Blanchard rushed for 1,562 yards, completed five of five pass attempts for 210 yards, accounted for 20 touchdowns, had 106 tackles, three QB sacks, and four pass interceptions.
Blanchard will join the Rebels on August 4 when the 2000 signee class reports to campus.
