OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss head coach David Cutcliffe was very pleased with his football team's effort as the Rebels made it through another extremely hot two-a-day workout on Thursday. The team had a two-hour morning session in full pads followed by a shorter evening practice in shorts, shoulder pads and helmets.
"I thought we did what we needed to do today," Cutcliffe said. "We're a little beat up and a little sore, but the players pushed through that and that is what we like to see."
The Rebels had several players on the sidelines with minor injuries as they continued to work on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, and coach Cutcliffe is looking forward to their return.
"We hope to get some people back over the next couple of days," Cutcliffe said, "It's kind of day-to-day with a lot of these guys with various strains and pulls, but we are hoping to have most of them back by Saturday."
Ole Miss wraps-up two-a-day practices on Friday. Meet the Rebels day is schedules for Saturday and will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in The Grove. Fans are invited to come out to meet the Rebel players and coaches. However, due to the expected large crowd, fans will be limited to one autograph per player and coach.
