OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss officials announced Wednesday that the athletic ticket office has begun a process to refund money to a number of people who ordered individual tickets for home games with Auburn, LSU, and Mississippi State. Those three games were earlier announced as sellouts.

"Due to the unprecedented sale of season tickets, we did not have enough individual game tickets to meet this year's demand," said Sans Russell, assistant athletic director for ticket operations. Ole Miss sold 36,067 season tickets for the 2000 campaign, breaking the previous record of 29,925 set last year.

"We appreciate the way our fans have responded in purchasing tickets for this year's games," Russell said. "At the same time, we wish to apologize for any inconvenience our not being able to honor all ticket orders may have caused."

Sideline and end zone tickets sill remain for non-conference home games with Tulane, Arkansas State, and Nevada-Las Vegas, with only end zone tickets remaining for SEC foe Kentucky. Fans wishing to purchase tickets for those four games should call the ticket office at 1-888-732-8587 or 662-915-7167.
