All-Purpose Yards Breakdown: 143 Rush, 47 Rec., 23 PR, 2 KR)

Deuce McAllister totaled his 215 all-purpose yards in three quarters of action as he injured his right shoulder on the last play of the third quarter and did not return to action.

McAllister set new Ole Miss career records this afternoon for rushing attempts and career 100-yard rushing games. McAllister carried 17 times to give him 502 for his career, breaking Dou Innocent's (1991-92, 1994-95) mark of 494. His 143-yard rushing effort was the 11th 100-yard rushing game of his career, breaking Innocent's record of 10 career 100-yard rushing games.

With his 143-yards rushing, McAllister surpassed the 2,500-yard mark for his career. He now has 2,569 career rushing yards, 85 yards shy of the Ole Miss career record of 2,654 held by Kayo Dottley (1947-50).

McAllister has now rushed for at least 100-yards in seven of the Ole Miss' last eight games, including last December's Sanford Independence Bowl. During the eight-game span, McAllister has rushed for 900 yards on 153 attempts (5.9 ypc), and has scored 12 rushing TDs.

His five receptions tied his career-high set at Arkansas on Nov. 7, 1998.

McAllister accounted for 80 (67 rush, 13 rec.) of the 98 yards on the Rebels' 10-play drive to start the game. He capped the march off with a 50-yard TD run.

McAllister has now scored 18 TDs in Ole Miss' last nine games, including last December's Sanford Independence Bowl, dating back to Oct. 16, 1999 against Alabama.

GAME NOTES

Today's game marks the 1,000th in Ole Miss history. The Rebels are the 40th team in NCAA Division I-A history to reach the 1,000-game mark. Through today's game, Ole Miss has an all-time record of 554-411-35 (.572 winning percentage).

Second-year head coach David Cutcliffe celebrated his 46th birthday today.

Ole Miss drove 98 yards for a TD on 10 plays in 4:44 on its first possession of the game, capped by Deuce McAllister's 50-yard TD run. It is the longest scoring drive by the Rebels since marching 99 yards on 12 plays against Memphis State in 1989. Prior to today's game, the last time Ole Miss had a scoring drive of 90 or more yards was against Arkansas in 1997 (96 yards, 3 plays, John Avery 97-yard run).

Romaro Miller moved past Archie Manning (1968-70) for fourth-place on the Ole Miss career passing list with 4,822 yards. Next on the list is Mark Young (1985-88) at 4,971 yards. Kent Austin (1981-85) is the Rebels' career leader with 6,184.

Junior LB Kevin Thomas intercepted two passes this afternoon to become the first Ole Miss player to intercept two passes in a game since Syniker Taylor did so last year in Oxford against Vanderbilt. Thomas' interception in the first quarter was his first career.

Junior WR Omar Rayford recorded his first career reception, a 10-yard pass from Romaro Miller on the final play of the first quarter.

The seven points allowed by the Ole Miss defense was the fewest since shutting out Memphis, 3-0, to open the 1999 season.

Today's game was Ole Miss' road opener. The Rebels are now 41-58-5 all-time in road-openers. They are 27-35-4 in SEC road openers.

The Rebels are now 5-1 on the road dating back to the 1999 season.

Ole Miss is 13-12 all-time against the SEC Eastern Division since the conference began divisional play in 1992, including 7-2 against Vanderbilt.
