Jonesboro, Ark. - Led by sophomore Stacy Andrews' and senior Teneeshia Jones' record setting performances, the Ole Miss men's and women's track teams took first place at the Arkansas State Invitational on Saturday.

The Rebels scored 153 points and finished ahead of Middle Tennessee State (115), Arkansas State (105), Arkansas-Little Rock (15) and Memphis (10). The Lady Rebels tallied 133 points and were followed by Arkansas State (125), Middle Tennessee State (110), Rhodes College (35), Arkansas-Little Rock (22), Mississippi College (19) and Memphis (10).

Andrews, a native of Camden, Ark., set a new meet record (62-3.25) in winning the weight throw. Andrews, who also recorded a personal best with the throw, broke the previous meet record of 57-9.5 set by Kevin Robinson of Memphis in 1996.

In addition to Andrews' first place finish in the weight throw, the Rebels collected four other first place finishes. Senior Savante' Stringfellow automatically qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in his first long jump competition of the season. Stringfellow, the reigning NCAA Outdoor Champion in the long jump, jumped 25-11.5 at ASU. Sophomore James Shelton won the 55-meter dash (6.36), sophomore Walt Sligh won the shot put (50-5.25) and the 4x400-meter relay team took first place (3:17.77).

Freshman Kendrick Triggs placed second in the 200 meters (21.74), sophomore Dominik Fuhrmann finished second in the 800 meters (1:53.65) and senior Aaron Fenzel took second in the 400 meters (49.62).

Jones, a Shannon, Miss., native, set new meet records in winning both the 55 meters (6.87) and the 200 meters (23.89). The previous 55-meter dash record (6.99) was set by Denise Weeks of Arkansas-Little Rock in 1997 and the old meet record in the 200-meter dash (24.23) was set by Stephanie Saleem of Murray State in 1990. Jones also took first place in the 55-meter hurdles (7.79).

Juniors Monique McClure and Chika Chuku also claimed first place finishes for the Lady Rebels. McClure finished first in the shot put by throwing a personal best 43-9.75. Chuku won the 800 meters (2:19.31). Senior Willette Woods had a pair of second places finishes as she took second in the 200-meter dash (25.13) and the 400-meter dash (58.42).

Tisha Parker, who will be competing for Ole Miss as a senior in the outdoor season, but has exhausted her indoor eligibility, competed unattatched. Parker won the long jump (19-0.75) and took fifth in the 200 meters (25.55).

Ole Miss will return to action when they travel to Gainesville, Fla., to compete at the Gator Invitational on Feb. 3.
