Lady Rebel Netters Down Kansas State, 7-0

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.-The 19th-ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team, playing their second match in as many days, downed Kansas State 7-0, Saturday afternoon to remain undefeated on the season. With the win, the Lady Rebels improve to 5-0 as they get ready to face BYU on Monday.

Ole Miss won the doubles point sweeping all three matches. They have swept the doubles in all five of their matches.

Kansas State turned it up a notch in singles, but the Lady Rebels responded, winning five of the six matches including four in three sets.

At No. 1 singles Julie DeRoo came back to defeat Alena Jecminkova 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 for her fifth straight win. Freshman Hanna-Katri Aalto won an exciting three-set match over KSU's Petra Sedlmaverova 6-7, 7-5, 6-4. She is 3-0 on the year in dual matches.

Junior Alesya Ignatieva defeated Eva Novotna 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 3 singles to clinch the match. Karem Harboe is also undefeated in dual matches with her 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win over Paulina Castillesos at No. 4 singles.

The bottom two spots dominated for the Lady Rebels. Mira Radu downed Natalya Farmer 6-1, 6-0 and Audra Adams rebounded from a loss on Friday, to cruise past Haley McIver 6-1, 6-0.

The Lady Rebels will travel to Provo, Utah, Monday where are they scheduled to meet BYU at 10:00 a.m., depending on the weather. It was snowing heavily in New Mexico and the possibility existed that Ole Miss might not get to fly out on Sunday morning.
