Volleyball Team Loses 3-0 To Ninth-Ranked Florida

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball team lost 3-0 to ninth-ranked Florida Friday night at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. With the loss, the Lady Rebels drop to 5-11 overall and 1-5 in the SEC.
Florida's Aury Cruz was a one-woman wrecking crew, tallying 16 kills on 31 total attacks for a hitting percentage of .452 to lead the Lady Gators (11-1, 6-0). Florida finished with a .423 hitting with 52 kills.
Senior Jaime Burns led the Lady Rebels with six kills and six digs. Leigh Rittiner had a team-high nine digs in the loss. Ole Miss hit a only .019 with 22 kills on 106 total attempts.
Florida came out smoking in the first game, hitting .655 on their way to a 30-10 win. In game two, the Lady Gators hit .382 and won 30-19. They took game three 30-21 behind a .265 hitting clip.
Ole Miss travels to Athens, Ga., Sunday for a 1 p.m. match with the Georgia Lady Bulldogs, who defeated Mississippi State 3-0 Friday.
