Volleyball Falls To Georgia 3-0

ATHENS, Ga. - The Ole Miss volleyball team went 0-2 this weekend with a 3-0 loss to Georgia Sunday afternoon at the Ramsey Center. On Friday, the Lady Rebels dropped a 3-0 decision to the ninth-ranked Florida Gators.
Georgia (9-6, 3-4) won the first game 30-19 and then took the second game 30-23. Ole Miss, trying to extend the match, took the Lady Bulldogs to the wire in game three before falling 31-29.
The Lady Rebels are now 5-12 overall and 1-6 in the SEC. Senior Jaime Burns led Ole Miss with nine kills and nine digs. Elena Garcia, Abby Hollander and Leigh Rittiner had seven kills each for the Lady Rebels, who hit .154 on the day.
Georgia, who hit .296 in the match, had five players in double-digit kills. Stacy Buerger led the Lady Bulldogs with a double-double of 18 kills and 15 digs and hit .349. Jessica Boller finished with 13 kills on 25 attempts for a team-leading .440 hitting percentage.
Ole Miss will now turn their attention to next weekend's road trip at LSU and Arkansas. On Friday, the Lady Rebels will travel to LSU for a 7 p.m. match. Sunday they are at Arkansas for a 1:30 p.m. match.
