Volleyball To Host Pair Of SEC Eastern Division Foes

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball team returns home after four consecutive conference matches on the road, to host a pair of SEC Eastern Division foes this weekend at the Gillom Sports Center. Friday, the Lady Rebels will face Kentucky at 7 p.m. and then on Sunday, they host Tennessee at 2 p.m.
Ole Miss (5-14, 1-8) will play five of its last six matches at home. The Lady Rebels are led by senior Jaime Burns, who has 237 kills and 216 digs on the year and notched her 10th double-double of the season in the LSU match. In the Arkansas match, Burns recorded her 900th career dig and needs 94 to become a member of the 1,000 kills/1,000 digs club.
Kentucky comes into the weekend with a 10-9 overall record, 3-5 in the SEC. They are coming off a 3-2 loss to No. 20 Notre Dame on Tuesday. The Wildcats were two points from upsetting the Fighting Irish, losing 17-15 in the deciding game. The Wildcats are led by Kristen Batt, who has 273 kills for an average of 3.79 per game. She also leads the team in digs with 197 for 2.74 per game.
Tennessee enters the weekend with a 10-8 overall record, 3-5 in the SEC. They defeated Virginia Tech 3-1 on Oct. 16 and then lost to South Carolina 3-1 on Sunday. The Lady Vols are led by Ariana Wilson, who is averaging 4.40 kills per game. Kelli Scott leads the team in digs with 174.
