Volleyball To Host A Pair Of SEC Western Division Foes

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball team will conclude a four-match homestand this weekend with a pair of SEC Western Division foes. The Lady Rebels will face Arkansas Friday at 7 p.m. and then LSU on Sunday at 2 p.m., at the Gillom Sports Center.
Ole Miss comes into the weekend with a 4-8 overall record, 1-1 in the SEC. The Lady Rebels went 1-1 last weekend with a 3-1 win over Jacksonville State and a 3-0 loss to South Carolina.
Senior Jaime Burns leads the Lady Rebels with 163 kills, an average of 3.79 per game. She recorded her seventh double-double of the year with 20 kills and 21 digs in the win over Jacksonville State. Freshman Elena Garcia is second on the team with 136 kills and 114 digs.
Arkansas comes into the weekend matches with a 6-5 overall record, 4-0 in the SEC. They sit atop the Western Division. The Lady Razorbacks defeated Alabama 3-0 last Friday and then handed Auburn a 3-0 loss on Sunday. Senior outside hitter Eftila Tanellari, the SEC Player of the Week., leads Arkansas with 130 kills, an average of 3.33 per game.
LSU brings a 6-5 record into this weekend with a 3-1 league mark. They posted a 3-0 win over Auburn last Friday and then held off Alabama 3-2 on Sunday. Junior outside hitter Jennifer Hampton leads the Lady Tigers with 121 kills, an average of 3.46 per game.
All young Ole Miss fans are encouraged to arrive early for the Arkansas match to have their face painted by the Ole Miss cheerleaders. On Sunday, the first 100 fans entering the LSU match will receive a free Ole Miss koozie/beverage holder.
