OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball team lost a tough 3-0 match to SEC Western Division rival LSU Sunday afternoon at the Gillom Sports Center. With the loss, the Lady Rebels fell to 4-10 overall and 1-4 in the SEC, while LSU improved to 8-5 and 5-1 in league play.

Senior Jaime Burns led Ole Miss with a double-double of 11 kills and 10 digs and freshman Elena Garcia recorded her seventh double-double of the year with 11 kills and 12 digs. Junior Setter Cheryl Wilson notched a career-high seven block assists for the Lady Rebels.

Game one was close, and then LSU took a 13-10 lead. The Lady Tigers extended their lead to eight (23-15). Ole Miss, who hit .286, cut it to 23-18, but LSU used a 7-2 run to close out the game 30-20.

Despite outhitting LSU, Ole Miss fell behind the Lady Tigers 25-18 in game two. The Lady Rebels then went on a 5-0 run to cut it to 25-23. LSU won the next two points to go ahead 27-23, and the Lady Rebels answered with two points of their own to make it 27-25. The Lady Tigers would go on to win the game 30-27.

LSU jumped out to a 13-8 lead in game three, and extended it to 21-12, but Ole Miss would go on a 11-2 run to tie it up 23-23. The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Rebels 7-5 to take the game 30-28 and win the match.

Ole Miss will hit the road next weekend for a pair of matches against Eastern Division foes. On Friday, the Lady Rebels will face nationally-ranked Florida at 8 p.m. CT, and then on Sunday they will meet Georgia at 1 p.m. CT.
