Volleyball Travels To Arkansas State

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball team will travel to Jonesboro, Ark., Tuesday to face the Arkansas State Lady Indians. The match is slated for 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.

Ole Miss (4-10, 1-4 SEC) will be looking to snap a three-match losing streak. The Lady Rebels lost to Arkansas 3-0 last Friday, and then dropped a 3-0 match to LSU on Sunday. Senior outside hitter Jaime Burns led the Lady Rebels with 23 kills and 18 digs for the weekend. She notched her eighth double-double of the season in the LSU match. Junior setter Cheryl Wilson recorded a career-high seven block assists against LSU.

Arkansas State comes into the match with a 6-6 overall record. They are coming off back-to-back losses to Middle Tennessee State (3-1) and Western Kentucky (3-0). The Lady Indians are led by senior middle blocker Katie Silliman, who has 141 kills on the year and is averaging 3.0 kills per game. Freshman outside hitter Caitlyn Mitchell is second on the team with 134 kills for 2.85 per game. Arkansas State is hitting .193 for the season.

Following Tuesday's match against ASU, the Lady Rebels will travel to nationally-ranked Florida Friday, for a 7 p.m. match. Sunday, Ole Miss will meet Georgia at 1 p.m.
