Mira Radu Advances To Consolation Final At National Indoor

DALLAS - Mira Radu of the Ole Miss women's tennis was dominate in her third round consolation match at the Omni Hotels National Indoor, to advance to the finals Sunday at the Brookhaven Country Club.
Radu downed Courtney Bergman 6-2, 6-0 in the third round, setting up a final against UCLA's Sara Walker, who defeated Alison Ojeda (Tennessee) 6-4, 6-4. Walker is ranked No. 5 in the nation in singles.
After dropping her first round match to 10th-ranked Gabriel Lastra, Radu has rebounded to win three matches including a straight-set win over 13th-ranked Janet Bergman of Wake Forest Friday evening.
The Omni Hotels National Indoor Championships is the second of three grand slam tournaments for the 2001-02 season. The All-American Championships and the NCAA Championships are the other two grand slams. The National Indoor feature a 32-player singles and 16-team doubles field comprised of the top players in the nation.
