OXFORD, Miss. - Girls ages 8 to 18 can get a head start on improving their softball game at The University of Mississippi's Softball Clinics in January.

Pitching and Catching Clinics are Jan. 12 and 19 at Ole Miss Softball Complex directly across from the Gillom Sports Center on the Oxford campus. Participants will be placed by age and ability.

Registration continues until the clinics open at 10 a.m. for catching and 1 p.m. for pitching. Registration fees include a t-shirt and are $30 for catching and $35 for pitching. A $10 non-refundable deposit is required per application. Each clinic lasts about two hours.

Ole Miss Head Softball Coach Candi Letts said the clinics' goals are to instruct campers on the fundamentals of softball skills and to raise their level of performance.

The sessions will be taught by Letts and assistant coaches Dedeann Pendelton and Heather Swinney. Ole Miss softball players also will help instruct some of the younger age groups.

For more information or to register, call Pendelton in the University Softball Office at 662-915-7186.
