OXFORD, Miss. - Three members of the 2001 Ole Miss football team -- offensive tackle Terrence Metcalf of Clarksdale, Miss., fullback Charles Stackhouse of West Memphis, Ark., and running back Joe Gunn of Amory, Miss., -- have been selected to participate in All-Star games over the next few weeks.

"These postseason games provide an excellent opportunity for Terrence, Charles, and Joe to impress the professional coaches and scouts," said Rebel head coach David Cutcliffe. "All three had really productive careers at Ole Miss and we appreciate what they did for our program."

Metcalf and Stackhouse will play in the January 26 Senior Bowl at 4:00 p.m., in a contest to be televised by ESPN from Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. Gunn is set to play for the South squad in the 64th annual Blue-Gray All-Star Football Classic, set for December 25. The Blue-Gray game is played at the Crampton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala., and will be televised by ABC, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

During his career at Ole Miss, Metcalf developed into one of the nation's top offensive linemen and was named first team All-America by the American Football Coaches Association, the Walter Camp Foundation, and Football News. As a senior, Metcalf didn't allow a quarterback sack during the 2001 season as Ole Miss led the Southeastern Conference in fewest sacks allowed with 10.

Stackhouse, considered one of the best blockers in the SEC during his career, finished second on the team in rushing this season as he gained 330 yards on 75 carries, an average of 4.4 yards per rush. Although a fullback, he did see some action from the tailback position during his final Rebel campaign.

Gunn, who earned second team All-SEC honors from the SEC Coaches and the Associated Press this season, was the team's leading rusher with 870 yards on 200 carries and nine touchdowns. He finished his career ranked second on the Ole Miss list for career rushing yards with 2,749 and is first on the school's career list for rushing attempts (630), second in 100-yard rushing games (132), and tied for second in rushing TDs (22).

Metcalf and Stackhouse will mark the 81st and 82nd Ole Miss players to be chosen for the Senior Bowl, while Gunn is the 50th Rebel picked for the Blue-Gray Classic.
