SCHEDULE MAGNET WEEKEND: During this weekend's three-game series with SE Missouri State, Rebel Sports Marketing will be giving away free 2001 Ole Miss baseball schedule magnets. Game times for this weekend's series are 3 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT: Josh Christian's two-out RBI single in the seventh broke a 2-2 tie as Ole Miss won the rubber-match against Arkansas-Little Rock, 5-2, Sunday. Junior LHP Mike Gray went 6.2 innings in his first career start, allowing one earned run, and struck out eight in taking a no decision. Junior RHP Michael Posey picked up the win in relief during his first career appearance, pitching 2.1 innings of scoreless relief.
SCOUTING THE LIONS: SE Louisiana enters today's game with a 5-2 record after winning 2-of-3 against Samford at home this past weekend. The Lions opened their season on Feb. 2 with a three-game sweep of Centenary. SELA also played at Tulane on Feb. 6, losing 16-15. As a team, the Lions are hitting .326 with four HRs and 53 RBI, led by senior OF Preston Hayes' .409 average (9-22). SELA pitchers have a team ERA of 5.19 (60.2 IP, 35 ER) and opponents are hitting .276 against them with seven HRs.
SERIES INFO: Today's meeting is the 10th all-time and the first since 1981 between Ole Miss and SE Louisiana. The Lions lead the series 5-4, however, Ole Miss has won three of the last four ... The Rebels won both meetings between the two schools in 1981, 15-7 and 9-4, both in Oxford ... The Rebels are 2-0 versus SE Louisiana in Oxford, 2-4 in Hammond, La., and 0-1 in Baton Rouge, La.
