OLE MISS BACK IN NATIONAL RANKINGS: After a one-week absence, Ole Miss returned to the national rankings this week. The Rebels are ranked in all three of the major college baseball polls, receiving a rating as high as No. 19 in Collegiate Baseball Top 30. Ole Miss is also No. 21 in this week's Baseball America Top 25, and No. 24 in the Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches Top 25.

BULLPEN CLUB MEETING TIMES: The Ole Miss Bullpen Club will meet this Saturday prior to the Alabama game at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze from 2:30 p.m.-3:45 p.m. The meeting will take place in a hospitality tent the Bullpen Club will have set-up just outside the Irving Oakes Pavilion in left field. Head Coach Mike Bianco is scheduled to visit the tent around 3:05 p.m. The Bullpen Club invites all Rebel fans, including non-members, to visit the tent and participate in other baseball tailgating activities.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS: Memphis enters tonights' game with an 11-6 overall record ... The Tigers opened C-USA play last weekend and dropped 2-of-3 at Charlotte ... Memphis is hitting .276 (155x562) as a team with 24 HRs, and has outscored its opposition 129-94 ... Junior Daniel Uggla leads the Tigers in hitting with a .470 (31x66) average and is also the Tigers' leader in HRs (8) and RBI (28) ... Memphis pitchers have a team ERA of 4.69 (144.0 IP, 75 ER), and opponents are hitting .257 (145x564) with 12 HRs.

SERIES INFO: Tonight's meeting is the 114th all-time between Ole Miss and Memphis dating back to 1923 ... the Rebels lead the all-time series 69-44 ... Ole Miss has won five straight in the series dating back to a 4-1 loss to the Tigers on Feb. 28, 1998 in the Service Academies Classic in Millington, Tenn. ... the Rebels won last year's meetings 6-2 in Oxford on Apr. 5, and 11-5 in Memphis on Apr. 25 ... Ole Miss is 31-21 all-time against Memphis in Oxford, including 9-2 at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field, and 32-21 at Memphis ... the Tigers won the only meeting played at a neutral site, defeating the Rebels 4-1 at the 1998 Service Academies Classic in Millington, Tenn ... there are seven games in the series that the location can not be determined ... this will be the first time the two teams have played at AutoZone Park in Memphis.

OLE MISS VERSUS C-USA: Tonight's game is Ole Miss' second of the year against a Conference USA opponent ... the Rebels defeated in-state rival Southern Miss, 3-2, on Mar. 4 in Oxford during the Ole Miss Invitational ... the Rebels are 202-112 (.643 winning percentage) all-time versus schools that currently play baseball in Conference USA: UAB 11-8 (.579), Houston 2-0 (1.000), Louisville 3-1 (.750), Memphis 69-44 (.611), Southern Miss 56-32 (.636), Tulane 61-27 (.693).

REBELS OFF TO BEST START IN 37 YEARS: Ole Miss' 18-5-1 start is the Rebels' best 24-game start since going 19-5 in 1964. A win tonight would also give Ole Miss its best 25-game start since the 1964 team went 20-5. The 1964 team finished the year with a 24-7 record and advanced to the school's second-ever College World Series appearance.

BREAKING OUT THE BROOMS: Ole Miss' three-game sweep of Auburn at Plainsman Park this past weekend marked the Rebels' first three-game road sweep of an opponent -- SEC or non-conference -- since taking three games from Kentucky, Apr. 19-20 in Lexington. Prior to this weekend, Ole Miss had played 62 three-game road series, including 59 inside the SEC, without a three-game sweep.

YATES EXTENDS STREAK: Freshman RHP Adam Yates pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings of relief in two appearance this past weekend at Auburn to extend his streak of consecutive scoreless innings to 31 dating back to a Feb. 14 start against SE Louisiana. Yates earned the win in both of his appearances against the Tigers and is 4-0 on the season with a 1.60 ERA (33.2 IP, 6 ER), which ranks fourth in the SEC.

MONTRENES LEADS SEC IN STRIKEOUTS, TIED IN WINS: Junior RHP Pete Montrenes struck out seven in Friday's 10-8 win over Auburn and continues to lead the SEC in strikeouts with 45, eight ahead of South Carolina's Kip Bouknight. Montrenes' five wins also ties him for the conference lead with Bouknight and the Gamecocks' Gary Bell.

AFTER 24 GAMES LAST YEAR: Ole Miss was 15-9 after 24 games last season ... The Rebels had a .302 batting average (257x851) with 20 HRs, 144 RBI, 47 doubles and four triples ... Ole Miss had outscored its opponents 157-133 ... The Rebels stole 30-of-40 bases and had hit into 15 double plays ... Ole Miss pitchers had a 4.85 ERA (209.2 IP, 113 ER), allowing 208 hits, including 17 HRs, walked 94 and struck out 154 ... The Rebels had committed 31 errors and turned 17 double plays.

LAST TIME OUT: Sophomore Chad Sterbens scored on a wild pitch in the 11th inning, and Nathan Lyons retired Auburn in order in the bottom of the inning to lift Ole Miss to a 6-5 win and a three-game road sweep of the Tigers. The Rebels scored two runs in the ninth on a sac fly by Kris Cox and a two-out RBI single up the middle by Matt Tolbert o tie the game. Freshman RHP Adam Yates pitched two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Sterbens went 4x4 at the plate, and senior Lance Jones was 4x5 with a HR as Ole Miss out-hit the Tigers 15-12.

REBEL DIAMOND NOTES: Ole Miss is hitting .321 (42x131) this season with 53 RBI with runners in scoring position and two outs ... The Rebels have out-hit the opposition in five straight games ... This weekend's three games with Auburn were decided by a total of four runs, 10-8 on Friday, 3-2 on Saturday and 6-5 on Sunday ... Ole Miss is 6-1 in one-run games this season. Last year, the Rebels were 5-6 in one-run games ... Ole Miss is second in the SEC in triples, fourth in doubles and tied for fourth in home runs.

* Is making his fourth appearance and start of the season.
* Is 1-1 with a 5.14 ERA (7.0 IP, 4 ER) this season, with five walks and four strikeouts.

* Missed three weeks after developing soreness in his right shoulder following his first start of the season against Arkansas-Little Rock on Feb. 10.
* Returned to action on March 7 with a start at Arkansas State.

Retired the side in order in the first and sat down six of the first seven hitters he faced, allowing just a one-out walk to Zach Bidwell in the second ... Murray State's first hit was a lead-off single by Nathan Taylor to start the third ... Hit Todd Satterfield with a pitch and Billy Moore reached base on a bunt single to load the bases with no outs ... Josh Ridgway then flew out to right and Satterfield was doubled off second for a double play ... Coaxed Garner Byars to foul out to first to end the inning ... Was relieved at the top of the sixth by Joel Lyons ... Threw 67 pitches, 41 for strikes.

PRIOR START: Pitched one inning due to a limited pitch count at Arkansas State on March 7 ... It was his first start since Feb. 10 against Arkansas-Little Rock after missing three weeks due to soreness in his right shoulder ... Allowed one run on two hits ... Faced four batters ... Yielded back-to-back singles to start the game ... Threw 16 pitches, eight for strikes ... Took a no decision in the Rebels' 5-2 win.
