Teneeshia Jones Dominates At The Big Cat Classic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Ole Miss senior Teneeshia Jones provisionally qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships by winning all three of her events at the Big Cat Classic on Saturday. Jones, a seven-time All-American, scored 30 points by placing first in the 100 meters (11.33), 200 meters (23.52) and 100-meter hurdles (13.38).

The Lady Rebels collected seven first place finishes on the day. In addition to Jones' gold medal finishes, junior Chika Chuku won the 400 meters (56.73), senior Brandy Mack won the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.26), senior Brandy Barnett took first in the high jump (5-8) and junior Monique McClure won the shot put (43-1.25).

The Rebels had four top finishes as freshman Kendrick Triggs won the 200 meters (21.20), senior Chad Dixon won the 3,000-meter steeplchase (9:22.76), freshman Noah Cosby won the pole vault (14-11) and sophomore Stacy Andrews took first place in the hammer throw (149-10).

The Ole Miss track and field teams will travel to Austin, Texas, April 5-7 to compete in the Texas Relays.
