REBELS POST 1-1 RECORD LAST WEEKEND
Ole Miss posted a 1-1 record last weekend losing to Tennessee 5-2 and then downing Florida 6-1. Against the seventh-ranked Volunteers, Ole Miss found the going tough after losing the doubles point. Tennessee would win four of the six singles matches to claim the victory. On Sunday, the Rebels rebounded to defeat the 29th-ranked Gators. Florida's No. 1 doubles duo was defaulted by the head referee giving James Shortall and Kristofer Stahlberg their eighth win in their last nine matches. Seconds later, Martin Selin and Paul Ciorascu finished off Troy Hahn and Trey Johnson 8-3 at No. 3 doubles to clinch the point. Stahlberg defeated Nathan Overholser 6-3, 2-0, ret., at the top spot to make it 2-0 and then Alex Hartman topped Jeremy Wurtzman 6-1, 7-6(4) at the No. 2 position to give the Rebels a 3-0 lead. Florida's Matt Behrmann defeated Ciorascu 6-3, 6-3 to make it 3-1, but Shortall clinched the match with his 6-3, 6-2 win over Olivier Levant at No. 3 singles.
