Clint Farrar led off the bottom of the first with a single and after Chad Sterbens walked, Burney Hutchinson followed with a RBI single to make it 1-0. A batter later Carl Lafferty's single scored Sterbens to put the Rebels up 2-0, and Ole Miss added its third run when Hutchinson stole home on a double steal with runners on first and third.
Jeremy Fletcher (3-3) took the loss for the Indians, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks in 6 1/3 innings. He also struck out six.
Sterbens went 2-for-3 at the plate as Ole Miss out-hit ULM 8-6.
