Ole Miss Track Teams Prepare For Texas Relays

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss track and field team will compete at the 74th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, in Austin, Texas, April 4-7.
Leading the way for Ole Miss, at the Texas Relays, will be a trio of seniors in Teneeshia Jones, Tisha Parker and Savante' Stringfellow. Jones, a seven-time All-American, provisionally qualified for the 2001 NCAA Outdoor Championships last weekend in the 100 meters and 100-meter hurdles. She also set a new Ole Miss record in the 100-meter hurdles (13.38). Parker, a two-time All-American, will be competing in the long jump and triple jump for the Lady Rebels. Stringfellow, the reigning NCAA long jump champion, will be looking to add a Texas Relays championship to his collection of awards.
This year's Texas Relays will feature more than 5,000 high school, collegiate and elite athletes competing in 117 events. The Relays will begin with the decathalon and heptathlon on Wednesday, April 4. Running events will begin on Thursday, April 5, with the men's and women's 3,000 meter runs and end Saturday with the 4x400 meter relay.
