OLE MISS TO HOST LSU
Ole Miss returns home to host No. 25 LSU Saturday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. The Lady Rebels will be looking to snap a four-match losing streak and win their second SEC match of the year.
SCOUTING LSU
LSU comes into the match with a 12-6 overall record, 3-5 in the SEC. They are coming off a 4-3 win over Tulane on Wednesday. In their last conference match, the Lady Tigers defeated Arkansas 5-2. LSU is led by 18th-ranked Bruna Colosio, who is 14-2 at No. 1 singles. Colosio teams up with Rocio Fantilli at No. 1 doubles for a 14-3 record.
SERIES HISTORY
Ole Miss and LSU have met 23 times on the hardcourts with the Lady Rebels leading the series 14-9. Ole Miss has won nine in a row including last year's 6-0 win in Baton Rouge. The last time the two teams played in Oxford (1999), Ole Miss won 5-4.
LADY REBELS DROP 6-1 DECISION TO TENNESSEE
The Lady Rebels dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 4 Tennessee on Sunday in Knoxville. Tennessee claimed the doubles point and five of the six singles matches for the win. The lone winner on the day was sophomore Julie DeRoo, who downed Alison Ojeda in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
Ole Miss is ranked No. 35 in the latest WingspanBank.com ITA National Rankings, released Wednesday. Four teams from the SEC are ranked among the nation's top 10. Individually, sophomore Julie DeRoo is ranked No. 35 and Mira Radu is ranked No. 96 in singles. In doubles, DeRoo and Radu are ranked No. 30.
DEROO ON A ROLL
Julie DeRoo has won three in a row and four of her last five matches. Last week, she beat 48th-ranked Emmanuelle Berard 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-0. DeRoo is 15-9 on the year and 10-5 at No. 1 singles. She needs two wins to notch her 40th career victory.
ON THE COURT
Of the Lady Rebels' 17 opponents, 15 have been nationally-ranked including six in the top 25...The Lady Rebels are 6-2 when they win the doubles point and 1-9 when they lose the point...Freshman Hanna-Katri Aalto is 7-4 at No. 2 singles.
